How Did This Accident Occur?

We have an explanation of what happened in this truck stop parking lot, but we don’t know for sure if it is accurate. Authorities should scrutinize all available camera footage to see if this crash unfolded as police said. There should be plenty of angles to view the crash with footage from the truck stop and the trucks there, since an increasing number of trucks are equipped with dashcams.

The truck’s engine control module should yield additional information about how fast it was going before the crash, so we can have enough facts to piece together what happened here. That should help determine whether the truck driver could see the pedestrian before the crash, or whether the man was in a blind spot.
