Dewitt County, TX — September 6, 2024, Jeffrey Hutchinson was injured following a car accident at around 10:00 p.m. along Highway 119.
Authorities said in preliminary statements that the accident took place in the area of Highway 119 and East 12th Street, in the Yorktown area.
According to officials, 38-year-old Jeffrey Hutchinson was in a GMC Sierra going northbound along the highway. While passing another vehicle, the GMC somehow lost control and crashed off-road, overturning in the process. As a result Hutchinson was injured. No other injuries were reported.

With a crash like this, there are all kinds of factors investigators have to be able to confirm or rule out. Mechanical issues, tire defects, road hazards, missing signage or lighting, alcohol, medical conditions, etc. If authorities don’t dedicate the time or resources to consider these possibilities, common or not, then it’s possible they’re leaving slack that usually requires independent investigations to pick up.
