Irving, TX — May 27, 2024, an woman was injured following a golf cart accident at around 6:30 p.m. along Driskill Drive.

Authorities said in preliminary statements that the accident happened near the intersection of Driskill and Cottonwood Valley Circle.

In their statements, officials indicate that a 35-year-old woman was behind the wheel of a golf cart which was going northbound along Driskill. Due to events not entirely clear right now, the vehicle ended up colliding with a parked car. Due to this, the woman sustained reportedly serious injuries. No one else appeared to have been involved in the accident.

Right now, there isn’t much information about what went wrong. Authorities suggested the possibility of alcohol as a factor. I can’t say if that’s true or not, but given this is a community in the area of a country club, it may be fruitful to find out if this was a case of someone being over-served. Put simply, if an alcohol provider illegally over-serves someone, and that leads to them getting hurt, the alcohol provider may be liable for the resulting injuries. Maybe nothing like that happened here, but it’s a possibility that shows even a crash like this may not be so open-and-shut.
