Camp County, TX — May 30, 2024, Ramon Hernandez and one other person were injured in a car accident just before 5:30 p.m. along U.S. Highway 271.
According to authorities, 37-year-old Ramon Hernandez was traveling in a northbound Toyota Corolla on U.S. Highway 271 in the vicinity south of the F.M. 3384 intersection when the accident took place.

The weather and road conditions in the area at the time were reported to have been rainy and wet. Officials indicate that a southbound Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck occupied by a 48-year-old man was traveling at unsafe speeds when weather and road conditions are taken into account. The pickup truck reportedly hydroplaned, causing the vehicle to lose control and go into a sideways skid, entering the northbound lane of traffic. This resulted in a collision between the front-end of the Corolla and the left side of the pickup truck.
Both Hernandez and the man from the truck incurred reportedly severe injuries as a result of the wreck; they were each transported to local medical facilities in order to receive necessary treatment. Additional details pertaining to this incident are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.
