Georgiana Steward, 2 Injured in Car Accident on U.S. 80 in Wood County, TX

An eastbound Ford Bronco occupied by a 76-year-old woman and a 27-year-old woman was apparently attempting to make a left turn onto northbound C.R. 2651. Officials indicate that, for unknown reasons, the Bronco failed to yield the right of way to westbound highway traffic, entering the intersection at an unsafe time. This resulted in a collision between the front end of the Kia and the front-right side of the Bronco. The Bronco came to a stop facing southwest and blocking the right-most westbound lane of the highway. The Ford was run off of the right side of the road and came to a stop facing west on the north side of the highway, west of C.R. 2651.

Steward incurred suspected severe injuries as a result of the wreck. The two women from the Bronco sustained apparently moderate injuries, as well. They were each transported to local medical facilities by emergency medical services in order to receive necessary treatment.

Additional details pertaining to this incident are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.
