Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
With crashes like this, it might surprise folks to learn authorities can look at the scene, think, “Obviously the victim turned in front of an 18-wheeler,” and just move on without any further consideration. The problem is this assumes way too much, and it lets important evidence slip through the cracks. Common sense tells us that people don’t just turn into the path of an 18-wheeler for no reason, but the scant details in these current statements might lead someone to think otherwise.
That’s why it’s usually best that someone takes a closer look into the facts surrounding serious truck wrecks like this. If nothing else, the deceased driver’s loved ones get what peace of mind they can from knowing why the crash happened.
