Newton County, TX — December 19, 2023, Garrett Koch was injured in a truck accident just before 6:00 in the morning along F.M. 2626.
According to reports, 32-year-old Garrett Koch was traveling in an northeast bound GMC Sierra pickup truck on F.M. 2626 in the vicinity northeast of the C.R. 2012 intersection when the accident took place.
Officials indicate that an 18-wheeler and it’s trailer became detached from each other as the 18-wheeler made a left turn from a private drive on the south side of the road onto the southwest bound lane of F.M. 2626. This caused the trailer of the 18-wheeler to become stuck blocking both lanes of the road. The northwest bound pickup truck allegedly collided with the left side of the trailer. As a result of the collision, Koch incurred suspected serious injuries; he was transported to a local medical facility by emergency medical services in order to receive immediate treatment. No additional injuries have been reported.
The accident is under investigation by local authorities. There are not currently any additional details available pertaining to this incident.
