Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman

Generally speaking, a single-vehicle wreck should always get close attention, as authorities are sometimes quick to move on before they’ve actually looked into all the details. But with a non-standard vehicle like this, there may be more reason for concern.

Authorities don’t often have the training or equipment to closely examine the condition of a typical car, which can be crucial for ruling out potential defects. Having to investigate a type of vehicle they don’t often encounter may only present additional hurdles they aren’t able to overcome on their own. It’s why I tend to rely on independent accident reconstructions rather than taking investigations from the authorities at face value. It remains to be seen if such efforts have been made to get answers here.
