Accident Report

Amarillo, TX — April 27, 2026, David Daniels was killed in a hit-and-run accident at about 10:30 p.m. at Southwest 3rd Avenue and McMasters Street.

Authorities said a white pickup hit two men and a dog near the intersection, then drove away.

One of the pedestrians, 61-year-old David Joe Daniels, died after being transported to a nearby hospital, according to authorities, while the other suffered minor injuries. The dog died as well.

Authorities have not released any additional information about the Potter County crash at this time.

Authorities likely are concentrating on finding the white pickup and its driver at this point, but eventually they’ll turn their attention to figuring out how this accident happened.
