How Did This Accident Occur?

The most common reason that two cars going in opposite directions collide is distracted driving. That obviously warrants consideration, but it’s still just one possibility of many. I’ve seen just about everything cause a crash like this—tire blowouts, medical conditions, alcohol, vehicle defects, poor signage or lighting, fatigue, other drivers causing an evasive maneuver, you name it. The key is to make sure investigators handling the crash are experienced and motivated enough to consider all possible angles. Otherwise, something important might slip through the cracks.

That’s where things can become challenging. A lot of folks just assume authorities take care of all that, but they’re not always able to give a serious crash the attention it deserves. If an officer lacks proper equipment or is forced to move on to other work too quickly, for example, they could miss crucial but subtle evidence. Many victims and families learn this as they realize they’re not really getting the answers they need, so they may seek out independent professionals who can step in and pick up the slack. That helps keep the facts straight, and it may catch important details authorities missed.

So, whatever led to this crash, it’s important to ensure the facts tell the story. It’s not about what is or isn’t common. It’s about making sure the story is told fairly with clear evidence.
