How Did This Accident Occur?
Any crash at this time of day is going to raise red flags for possible intoxication on top of the already common factors, like distracted driving or unsafe speeds. However, it’s important to keep an open mind and understand that early news reports rarely tell the whole story. I’ve seen crashes that looked like a tire blowout which turned out to be a serious defect. I’ve seen drivers blamed for all kinds of reckless behavior only for evidence to show they were experiencing a medical emergency. Until all the facts are clear, it’s best folks just avoid drawing conclusions. That at least will help to ensure those involved in the crash have a fair chance to tell their side of the story.
