March 18, 2026, a bicyclist was killed as the result of a car accident that happened around 10:35 p.m. along Synott Road.

How Did This Accident Occur?
This late at night, visibility is going to be a central factor to consider. Was the area well-lit? Was the bicycle equipped with reflectors or lights? Was the driver out driving their headlights (in other words, driving too fast at night)? People often get caught up thinking right-of-way is the only factor that matters when it comes to bicyclists. It’s an important factor, but it’s just one piece among many that need attention.
That’s one of the reasons I usually have independent accident reconstructionists look into crashes like this. If authorities get tunnel-vision, they might let important details slip through the cracks. That’s the last thing a family needs after losing a loved one in a serious accident. They deserve to know they’re getting the full story. Hopefully proper steps are taken to ensure that happens here.
Is there anyone local to this area that can comment on what this stretch of road is like? Is it common to see bicyclists? Is there enough lighting? Is there enough signage? Are there other things that need to be improved? Let me know in the comments.
