Accident Report

February 7, 2026, Beverly Hedtke was injured as the result of a car accident around 9:51 p.m. along Winters Mill Parkway.

Investigators said that the accident took place just north of Wimberley. It appears that 74-year-old Beverly Hedtke was in a Cadillac traveling southeast on the roadway. A 76-year-old man was in a Toyota Tundra going southeast, as well. It appears the Tundra was speeding when it crashed with the Cadillac.

Due to the crash, Beverly Hedtke reportedly was seriously injured. The other driver had no reported injuries. Additional details are unavailable at this time.

How Did This Accident Occur?

Authorities say speeding contributed to this crash, and that makes things seem pretty open-and-shut. However, serious injuries require serious investigations, and it’s important those investigations rule out as much as possible to get a clear picture of what went wrong. That’s where authorities sometimes fall short.

For example, I’ve noticed that authorities rarely inspect the inside of a victim’s vehicle. Doing so can reveal defects which can result in otherwise avoidable serious injuries. Faulty airbags, seatbelts failing to lock, and even seatbacks which collapse on impact when they’re meant to keep a driver upright. These are all serious issues I’ve seen before, and failing to rule them out can be a disservice to a victim as well as allow the problem to continue putting lives at risk.

Perhaps nothing out of the ordinary contributed to this crash. In my experience, though, families don’t want investigations that are rushed and sloppy. They want to be sure all serious factors are getting the attention they deserve. It remains to be seen if anything like that happened here.
