Accident Report
Austin, TX — March 29, 2026, Austin Nagle was killed and another person was injured in an alleged drunk driver accident at about 6:45 a.m. in the 9400 block of Research Boulevard.
Authorities said a southbound 2024 Triumph Street Triple motorcycle and a 2011 Hyundai Elantra collided while changing lanes near North Capital of Texas Highway, then the Hyundai crashed into a 2013 Infiniti G37.
The motorcyclist, 23-year-old Austin Nagle, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, according to a preliminary accident report.
A passenger in the Hyundai was hospitalized with serious injuries, the report states, while the driver, a 31-year-old woman, was charged with intoxication assault.
Infiniti driver Karlis Ozols, 52, suffered minor injuries, according to the report.
Authorities have not released any additional information about the Travis County crash at this time.
How Did This Accident Occur?
I expect authorities to scrutinize witness statements, evidence from the scene, data from the vehicles involved and any available traffic camera data to reconstruct this crash, but I’m not sure they will address one of the most important questions after any accident thought to involve alcohol: Where had the driver been drinking before the crash?
That matters because under Texas law, an alcohol provider — like a restaurant or bar — can share responsibility for any injuries caused by a patron who was served while visibly intoxicated. I’m not claiming that is what happened here, but it is worth a look so those affected by this crash will know who played a role in it.
