Comal County, TX — November 21, 2023, Anthony Xavior Valdez was injured as the result of a car accident at around 8:00 p.m. along F.M. 306.
Authorities said in their preliminary statements that the crash occurred just off the intersection of F.M. 306 and South Access Road.
Investigators reported that 46-year-old Anthony Xavior Valdez was in a Toyota Rav4 going westbound along F.M. 306. While rounding a curve, it appears the vehicle went off the side of the road where it eventually crashed into a tree. Valdez sustained injuries described as serious. No one else appeared to have been involved in the crash.

Single-vehicle wrecks can involve all kinds of complex factors, which is why it’s always important investigations are as thorough as possible. Unfortunately, a lot of people tend to just assume the driver was speeding or on their phone. As common as that may be, jumping to conclusions only risks something important slipping through the cracks.
Mechanical issues, defects, road hazards, a bar illegally over-serving someone, medical conditions, other reckless drivers who left the scene—these are all things that have happened before, and they’ll certainly happen again. As such, if investigators ignore these possibilities, even if it’s just to rule them out, they’re likely not telling the whole story. I can only hope investigations into this crash have been prudent enough to avoid such oversights.
