How Did This Accident Occur?

Initial reports indicate that a tire defect may have caused this fatal crash on U.S. 87, but this investigation needs to go further than ticking a box on a crash report. It’s not enough to note that the truck had a tire problem. Investigators should dig deeper to figure out why the truck’s tires were in such bad shape.

Did the trucking company miss a service appointment for the truck’s tires? Did a vendor put defective tires on the truck before this crash? Did the tires have some sort of manufacturer’s defect? Scrutinizing the truck’s maintenance logs and service schedule should help shed some light on these questions.

The victims deserve answers about who might be responsible for this crash.
