How Did This Accident Occur?

Most people think there is little-to-no hope of solving hit-and-run cases like this one. However, I’ve been in this line of business for over three decades. I’ve seen how these types of cases are solved more often than people might think, especially when the authorities are as thorough as they should be.

To be clear, I don’t know anything more about this particular accident than anyone else outside of the investigation. I just want to suggest a hypothetical. What if the driver of the hit-and-run vehicle had been fatigued, distracted, or even impaired at the time of the accident. Fear of repercussions could have been what drove them away from the scene of the accident. Another suggestion: what if the vehicle itself was suffering from a mechanical malfunction—such as a steering, throttle, or brake issue—and that was what led to the collision?

Hopefully the authorities are using all the tools at their disposal to find the vehicle that struck Juarez and the person who had been driving it. Is electronic data being collected? Any nearby surveillance footage should be gone over meticulously. Were there any witnesses? Any other vehicles at the scene? Any dash cam footage from other vehicles should also be gone over with care, as well.

Should the authorities seem to be lacking in their investigation, a third party investigation can always step in to take up that slack. After all, the loved ones left behind by Yuryana Juarez deserve real answers backed by solid evidence, not just vague assumptions and surface level investigation.
