San Antonio, TX — August 22, 2024, one person was injured a wrong-way car versus truck accident at approximately 4:30 a.m. along Interstate Highway 37.
According to authorities, the accident took place on I.H. 37 in the vicinity south of the U.S. 181 interchange.
Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, a motor vehicle was traveling in the wrong direction on the interstate, leading to a collision with an oncoming 18-wheeler. The passenger vehicle was reportedly overturned over the course of the accident. The occupant of the wrong-way vehicle suffered critical injuries as a result of the wreck; they were transported to a local medical facility by EMS in order to receive necessary treatment. No other injuries have been reported. Additional details pertaining to this incident are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.
