Accident Report

Around June 25, 2026, one person was killed following a work accident that took place along East 2nd Street.

Initial statements about the accident in an OSHA inspection detail say that the accident happened off the corner of East 2nd Street and Ivy Avenue in east Harris County.

According to OSHA, the incident involved “Structural Steel and Precast Concrete Contractors.” The report identified the employer subject to the investigations as “Flexco Construction, Llc.”

Exact factors surrounding the fatal incident are unavailable at this time.

How Did This Accident Occur?

I certainly don’t know more about this specific accident than what little OSHA reported. Unfortunately, a lot of families end up in the exact same position. It would shock people how many calls I get from families weeks, months, sometimes more than a year after losing a loved one to a work accident, and they still have the same unanswered questions they had on day one. Meanwhile, they have to navigate Texas work fatality law, which is more complex than in any other state in the country.

Hopefully authorities here have been more open with the family, or hopefully independent investigators can step in and fill in the blanks if authorities aren’t considering the needs of the worker’s family. Regardless of what happened here, there needs to be clear answers as soon as possible so the family can work toward a fair resolution.
