How Did This Accident Occur?

This crash seems relatively straight forward, except for the mention of the Toyota’s driver assistance unit being active. Such autonomous driving technology is meant to save lives, but authorities should check to see if it was working properly.

What if the Toyota’s autonomous driving technology didn’t detect the other eastbound vehicle, forcing the driver to veer into the wrong lane? Investigators should pull the data from the Toyota’s engine control module to see what the autonomous system was doing at the time of this accident.

The families affected by this crash deserve to know as much as possible about what caused this crash.
