Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
When people see a driver involved in a crash facing charges or citations, they tend to think everything is open-and-shut. The reality is those citations or charges may just be the tip of the iceberg. After all, the process authorities go through to file charges and the process for getting people the help they need are very different.
That’s why a lot of people get the best resolution possible when they have independent investigators look things over. They can help preserve evidence a family may need that authorities may have overlooked due to prioritizing their own goals over the needs of the family. Doing so can be a vital step toward ensuring there is both accountability and a just resolution to a serious car accident like this.
