How Did This Accident Occur?

At this time of day, the most likely explanations for a driver running a light are distracted driving and fatigue. There might be other less common possible factors at play, and those need to be investigated, as well. Also, there’s another question that too often goes overlooked after serious crashes: How did the injuries occur? Let me explain.

These preliminary reports show two people in similar vehicles suffering vastly different injuries. When it comes to modern vehicles, we expect a certain level of safety. A careful inspection of the victim’s vehicle could show that something went wrong, like a seatbelt or airbag, which caused preventable injuries to instead be serious. Is a defect like this common? Not really, but a proper investigation should be able to cover all of this. The concern is whether or not authorities are taking those steps while evidence is still intact.
