How Did This Accident Occur?

When two vehicles collide while opposite directions, it’s almost always because one of them left its lane, but we don’t know which one in this crash from the information made available so far. I expect authorities to figure that out in their investigation. Evidence from the scene, data from the vehicles and any available video footage should resolve that question, but it may take a deeper look to figure out why.

Cell phone records could show if one driver was distracted at the time of the crash, but an independent expert may be needed if investigators suspect a mechanical issue contributed to this accident. These steps are vital to ensure the victim’s family gets answers to any questions they have after the crash on State Park Highway.
