Accident Report
June 16, 2026, Wanda Carlton and one other were injured following a car accident that took place around 7:00 p.m. on Walker Street.
Initial details about the accident said that it happened at the intersection of Walker Street (US 180) and Court Street.
According to officials, 76-year-old Wanda Carlton and an 87-year-old woman were in a Honda CR-V going southbound along Court Street. At Walker, police say that a westbound Chevy Silverado failed to yield. The vehicles collided as a result.
Due to the crash, both Wanda Carlton and Carlton’s passenger had serious injuries. The teen driver of the Chevy had no confirmed injuries. At this time, additional details are unavailable.
