McLennan County, TX — January 24, 2024, a man was injured as the result of an alleged drunk driver accident at around 6:45 p.m. on Gholson Road.
According to preliminary information from authorities, the crash took place in the Gholson area north of Waco.

Investigators said that a 71-year-old Waco man was in a GMC Sierra which was reportedly going northbound along Gholson Road. While doing so, a southbound Dodge Dakota apparently left its lane, crossed the center line, and crashed into the Sierra. This sent the Sierra off-road. The Dodge driver allegedly left the scene, but details suggest authorities located him.
The GMC driver was taken from the scene with apparently serious injuries. It’s unclear if the Dodge driver was hurt. Current statements allege that Dodge driver was over three times the legal limit for blood-alcohol content. Authorities recommended charges including DWI and Failure to Stop and Render Aid.
