Accident Report
June 13, 2026, Virginia Badgley and one other were injured following a car accident at around 9:22 p.m. along County Road 100.
Preliminary information about the accident says that it happened at County Road 100 and County Road 105, east of Georgetown.
According to officials, a 69-year-old man and 62-year-old Virginia Badgley were in a Nissan Pathfinder going southeast on County Road 100. A Ford Ranger was going northwest when it reportedly failed to yield. Doing so, it crashed with the Nissan.
Virginia Badgley reportedly had serious injuries due to the crash while the Nissan driver had non-life-threatening injuries. Authorities say they recommended charging the Ford driver for accident involving injury or death.

How Did This Accident Occur?
The fact that authorities here are recommending such a serious charge makes me think there’s more to this than just a driver making a simple mistake at a stop sign. These charges usually follow after more obviously reckless decisions. It’s not my place to speculate about what that may have been, but it does make me wonder if this crash will continue to get the attention it deserves.
Sometimes when authorities have serious charges to pursue, they leave the accident investigation behind. Meanwhile, victims and families still have a process to go through that’s completely separate from any sort of criminal charges. As such, it might take independent investigations to secure all the proper evidence and make sure those affected by the crash can still tell their side of the story fully.
If authorities have been more thorough here and focused on getting the whole story beyond just what they needed for potential charges, that would be good to hear. It’s just not something I would ever take for granted.
