Accident Report

March 2, 2026, a man was killed as the result of a van accident that happened around 1:25 p.m. on Old US 36.

Preliminary statements from the Missouri State Highway Patrol indicate that the crash happened east of Cameron off the corner of Old US Highway 36 and Joe Montana Drive.

It appears that a 40-year-old Kidder man was in a Dodge Ram pickup going eastbound along the highway. Authorities say that a Dodge Ram Transit van was going northbound on a private drive. The van reportedly entered eastbound lanes of the highway into the path of the Kidder man. Doing so, the vehicles collided.

Due to the crash, the Kidder man in the pickup reportedly sustained fatal injuries. No other injuries were reported. At this time, additional details about the accident are unavailable.

How Did This Accident Occur?

If it’s true that a van pulled out of a private drive into the path of cross traffic, that usually means that driver failed to yield the right-of-way. Even if that’s what happened here, though, that doesn’t necessarily make things open-and-shut. That’s especially true if the van in this accident was a commercial vehicle.
