San Antonio, TX — August 3, 2026, Valerie Ann Keeney was killed in a car accident at about 11 a.m. at Hardy Oak Boulevard and Sable Canyon.

Authorities said a 2021 Nissan Kicks was exiting the Mesa Grande neighborhood when it was struck by a speeding 2020 Ford Explorer at the intersection, trapping the driver inside.

The Nissan driver, 64-year-old Valerie Ann Keeney, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash after being extricated from the car, according to authorities.

Data from the Ford showed it was going 87 mph at the time of the crash, authorities said. The driver, who did not have a license, has been charged with manslaughter.

Authorities have not released any additional information about the Bexar County crash at this time.
