Accident Report
March 28, 2026, a man was injured as the result of a UTV accident that happened around 11:47 p.m. on Flottmann Road.
Investigators with the Missouri State Highway Patrol said that the accident happened in the Gerald area off Flottmann Road. It appears a 49-year-old man from Rosebud, MO, was on a 2026 Can-Am Defender side-by-side going westbound on Flottmann. Somehow, the vehicle lost control, and it overturned.
The Rosebud man sustained serious injuries. No other information about the crash is available at this time.
How Did This Accident Occur?
Like with any typical car accident, it’s important that common factors and uncommon factors alike get attention so that the evidence can speak for itself. That means considering everything from cell phone use to alcohol to a medical emergency to road hazards to tire blowouts to vehicle defects.
My concern, though, is that single-vehicle accidents can already fall low on a police department’s list of priorities. A non-standard vehicle like a UTV may be even lower on that list, so there could be a concern the crash may be brushed aside before there’s been a proper investigation.
That’s one of the reasons it’s important to follow up with authorities as soon as possible following any serious accident. If victims and families feel the crash is getting the attention it deserves, that can be reassuring. But if they find there are shortcomings, and authorities can’t address concerns and questions, steps can be taken to bring in outside professionals who will pick up the slack and make sure nothing important slipped under the radar.
