How Did This Accident Occur?

As I see it, there are two major questions to be answered after this crash: why was the Chevrolet stopped on the road, and could the truck have avoided this collision?

A thorough inspection of the SUV is probably necessary since the driver and his passenger cannot share their version of what happened, while investigators should be able to answer the other question by poring over witness statements, vehicle data and any available video footage. Cell phone records may offer some insight into what the truck driver was doing at the time.

This investigation should provide the families grieving this accident with a clear view of what caused the crash.
