How Did This Accident Occur?

It is not clear at this point how this accident happened. Did the semi rear-end the other vehicle? Or collide with it as it was entering the highway at the intersection? Did some sort of mechanical issue contribued to this crash? These are the kind of questions that authorities must consider as they work to reconstruct this crash.

Witness statements, physical evidence, data from both vehicles and any available video footage of the crash should help in their probe. Cell phone records could show what each driver was doing at the time of the accident.

If investigators suspect a mechanical problem contributed to the crash, a qualified expert should examine the vehicles in a laboratory setting. Most law enforcement agencies don’t have the time or training for such an inspection, in my experience.

A thorough investigation will provide answers to any lingering questions that those injured in this crash and their families have about what happened on U.S. 33.
