How Did This Accident Occur?

Why was the Dodge stopped on the highway? Did it have its hazard lights on? Why didn’t the other vehicles avoid the crash? I don’t know the answer to these questions, but they are the kind of things that authorities must consider while investigating this accident.

Evidence from the scene, witness statements, data from the vehicles and any available video footage of the crash will help, but investigators may need to seek outside experts to study the vehicles in a laboratory setting to determine if a mechanical defect played a role.

Investigators must consider all of the facts that come out during this probe and follow them to the logical conclusion.
