A preliminary accident report indicates that a southbound 2021 Ford F-150 collided with a 2018 Mercedes-Benz GLA that was turning right out of a private driveway.

How Did This Accident Occur?

Was the Ford speeding? Did the Mercedes turn when it wasn’t safe? Was either driver distracted or fatigued? Did one of these vehicles have an issue with its brakes or steering mechanism? These are the kind of questions that authorities must address as they investigate this crash.

Investigators will pore over vehicle data, physical evidence, witness statements and any available video footage as they work to reconstruct this accident, while cell phone records could show if either driver was texting or interacting with an app at this time.

If authorities suspect a mechanical problem played a role in this crash, a qualified expert should examine both vehicles in a laboratory setting. That is beyond the abilities of my law enforcement agencies, in my experience, but the people affected by this accident deserve to know as much as possible about what caused it.
