Accident Report
Harrison County, TX — July 7, 2026, Trudie Ulrich was injured in a suspected drunk driver accident at about 7:30 p.m. on F.M. 1793 north of Marshall.
A preliminary accident report indicates that a 2003 Ford F-150 was heading north when it rear-ended a 2008 Kia Sorento near Private Road 2124 and then drove away.
Kia driver Trudie Ulrich, 74, was seriously injured in the crash, according to the report.
The Ford driver, who also suffered serious injuries, was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and failure to stop and render aid, the report states. He may have been under the influence of drugs and alcohol at the time.
Authorities have not released any additional information about the Harrison County crash.
How Did This Accident Occur?
I expect authorities to investigate this crash like any other injury accident, but authorities should look beyond the scene if blood tests confirm that the Dodge driver was intoxicated with alcohol at the time. They should try to figure out where he had been drinking.
That matters because under Texas law alcohol providers can be held responsible along with the alleged drunk driver if that person was served while obviously intoxicated.
Most law enforcement agencies don’t range that far from the crash site, but the Kia driver and her family deserve to know everyone who may have played a role in this accident.
