Citrus County, FL — December 11, 2025, one person was injured following a garbage truck accident at around 6:00 a.m. on Lecanto Highway.
Investigators said that the incident took place at North Paradise Point, between Citrus Springs and Hernando.
According to officials, a driver was in a pumping truck going along the highway. The truck reportedly crashed with a garbage truck, causing the pump truck to overturn. The garbage truck ran off-road and crashed into a mobile home.
Due to the crash, the pump truck driver was injured. No other injuries were reported. At this time, additional details are unavailable.

A crash scene this chaotic can leave a lot of very delicate evidence scattered. If authorities were so busy clearing and containing the scene that they couldn’t focus on the accident reconstruction, there may need to be independent investigations to preserve all the evidence before it’s lost.
