Willacy County, TX — December 12, 2023, one person was injured in a truck accident at approximately 7:00 p.m. along Interstate Highway 69E.
According to reports, a 49-year-old man was traveling in a northbound Chevy Tahoe SUV along I.H. 69E in the vicinity south of Conley Road when the accident took place.
Authorities indicate that, for unknown reasons, a northbound 18-wheeler which had been traveling in the lane behind the SUV failed to control its speed; this resulted in a collision with the rear-end of the SUV. The collision caused the SUV to enter a side skid and strike a concrete wall with its front end before leaving the roadway. A Ford Fiesta which had pulled to the right shoulder also incurred reportedly minimal front end damage after being side-swiped by the SUV.
The 49-year-old man reportedly sustained suspected serious injuries due to the accident; he was taken to a local medical center in order to receive immediate treatment.
