Wayne County, OH — December 15, 2023, one person was killed in a truck accident at approximately 7:00 in the morning along Interstate Route 71.
According to authorities, the victim was traveling in a northbound Chevy Silverado on I.R. 71 in the vicinity of Elyria Road when the accident took place.
For unknown reasons, the pickup truck failed to safely maintain its lane of travel; it veered off of the roadway and collided with an 18-wheeler which had been parked on the right side of the road. The driver of the pickup truck reportedly sustained fatal injuries as a result of the collision; they were declared deceased at the scene. No other injuries were reported.
