Waller County, TX — December 20, 2023, two people were injured in a truck accident shortly before 8:00 p.m. along I.H. 10, Katy Freeway.
According to reports, two men—one age 20 and the other age 61—were traveling in a westbound Mercedes-Benz SUV along Katy Freeway approximately half of a mile west of Woods Road when the accident took place.
Officials indicate that, for unknown reasons, a westbound 18-wheeler which had been traveling along the highway in the same lane behind the SUV allegedly collided with the rear end of the Mercedes-Benz. Both occupants of the SUV reportedly sustained suspected serious injuries as a result of the accident; they were transported to local medical facilities by emergency medical services in order to receive treatment. There were no other injuries reported.
The accident is under investigation by local authorities. The weather and road conditions in the area at the time were reported to have been clear and dry. Additional details pertaining to this incident—including the identities of those involved—are not currently available.
