Kleberg County, TX — August 6, 2025, two people sustained injuries due to a truck accident at around 4:05 a.m. along US Highway 77.
Initial details about the accident say that the crash happened at the south end of Kingsville near the US 77 and Business 77 merge.

According to officials, a 46-year-old man and a 33-year-old woman were in an International semi-truck going along southbound US 77. The truck somehow lost control, causing it to overturn. As a result, the woman in the truck was seriously injured. The truck driver had moderate injuries.
At this time, additional details surrounding the crash are unavailable.
Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
Finding out the cause of a commercial truck can be challenging enough on its own. Finding out what comes next for the people involved, though, can present its own unique challenges.
For example, injured passengers in trucks often have the same rights as they would if they were in a completely different vehicle that collided with a truck. If they’re not a co-worker (a friend, spouse, hitchhiker, etc.), then they’re not generally going to be covered by workers’ comp like the driver usually is. That means the crash would need as thorough an investigation as any serious truck wreck, even if there’s just the truck involved.
It’s not clear what all happened here, but the little information that is available suggests getting all the facts might require more than just a typical police investigation.
