Tampa, FL — July 19, 2025, one person was killed in a truck accident just after 5 a.m. in a parking lot near East Columbus Drive and North 50th Street/U.S. Route 41.
Authorities said a box truck backed over a man in a convenience store parking lot.
The man, who either laid down or passed out near the parked truck’s rear wheels, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, according to authorities. His name has not been made public yet.
The driver was not aware of the man’s presence, authorities said.
Authorities have not released any additional information about the accident at this time.

This whole situation sounds very strange. It sounds like the authorities don’t even know what happened in this parking lot, so I hope they will continue investigating to provide answers for those affected by this crash. I hope those folks get the closure they need.
