Smith County, TX — December 18, 2023, one person was injured in a truck accident just after 4:45 in the morning along State Highway 64.
According to reports, a 22-year-old man was traveling in a southeast bound Mitsubishi Mirage along S.H. 64 in the vicinity just southeast of the Farm to Market 3226 intersection when the accident took place.
Officials indicate that a garbage truck was making a pickup stop in the righthand lane of the highway when, for reasons yet to be confirmed, the Mirage reportedly collided with the back left of the garbage truck. Authorities state that the Mirage traveled partially underneath the garbage truck. The 22-year-old sole occupant of the Mitsubishi incurred suspected serious injuries due to the wreck; he was transported to a local medical facility by EMS in order to receive immediate treatment. No other injuries have been reported.
