North Decatur, GA — December 28, 2023, one person was injured in a truck accident that took place around 12:00 midnight along Decatur Village Way.
According to authorities, a sedan was traveling along Decatur Village way in the vicinity of the Scott Boulevard intersection when the incident occurred.
For as yet unknown reasons, the sedan allegedly collided with an 18-wheeler which had been parked along the roadway. The collision with the 18-wheeler apparently caused the sedan to swerve off of the roadway where it crashed into a utility pole and overturned, coming to rest on its side.
One person who had been occupying the vehicle sustained reportedly severe injuries as a result of the crash; they were transported to a local medical facility by emergency medical services in order to receive immediate treatment. No other injuries were reported.
The cause of the accident is under investigation by local authorities. The weather and road conditions in the area were not reported on; however, photographs which were taken of the scene that have been published in the news depict apparently dry roads. Additional details pertaining to this incident—including the identity of the victim—are not available at this point in time.
