New Orleans, LA — July 17, 2024, one person was killed following a truck accident at approximately 5:45 a.m. along Interstate Highway 610.
According to authorities, a man was traveling in a westbound Chevrolet Camaro on I.H. 610 in the vicinity of Elysian Fields Avenue when the accident took place.
The cause of the accident remains unclear. Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, the Camaro failed to safely maintain it lane of travel. It reportedly lost control and crashed into a center guardrail. After that, the Camaro was struck by a westbound 18-wheeler, according to reports.
The man who had been in the Camaro suffered reportedly fatal injuries as a result of the wreck and was declared deceased at the scene. No other injuries have been reported.
