Monroe County, MI — June 13, 2024, one person was killed and four others were injured in a truck accident at approximately 4:00 a.m. along Interstate Highway 75.
According to authorities, a 47-year-old man was traveling in a southbound 18-wheeler on Interstate Highway 75 in the vicinity of South Otter Creek Road when the accident took place.
Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, the 18-wheeler failed to safely maintain its lane of travel. It reportedly veered left, traveling over the center median and entering the northbound lanes of the interstate. There, it was involved in a collision with three oncoming vehicles, one of which reportedly caught fire as a result.
The man from the 18-wheeler suffered fatal injuries due to the wreck and was declared deceased at the scene. Two victims from the passenger vehicles were hurt and apparently took themselves to a medical facility for treatment. Two other people involved received minor injuries and decided they didn’t require additional medical attention, according to reports.
