Ellis County, TX — March 2, 2024, a woman and two minors were injured in a truck accident just before 4:00 p.m. along the U.S. 287 eastbound service road.
According to authorities, a Ford F-550 was traveling northbound exiting a parking lot and attempting to turn right onto the eastbound U.S. 287 service road in the vicinity east of Plainview Road when the accident took place.

Officials indicate that, for unknown reasons, the truck made the turn at an unsafe time, failing to yield the right of way to roadway traffic. This resulted in a collision between the front-left corner of the truck and the passenger side of a Chevrolet Cobalt occupied by a 48-year-old woman, a 17-year-old girl, and a 9-year-old boy.
The boy from the Cobalt incurred suspected severe injuries as a result of the accident. The woman and the girl also suffered apparently moderate injuries. They were each transported to local medical facilities by emergency medical services in order to receive necessary treatment. No other injuries have been reported.
Additional details pertaining to this incident—including the identities of the victims—are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.
