Laurel Run, PA — December 19, 2023, one person was killed in a truck accident around 10:00 a.m. along East Northampton Street.
According to reports, the accident took place in an area of Northampton Street which is allegedly known as “Giants Despair.”
That particular stretch of road has a reportedly steep grade, and signage is posted restricting traffic of larger vehicles, such as 18-wheelers. In this case, the 18-wheeler involved in the incident overturned onto its side. The driver—a 24-year-old—incurred reportedly fatal injuries as a result of the crash, having been declared deceased at the scene.
The accident is under investigation by local authorities. The weather and road conditions in the area at the time were not specifically reported on; however, video of the aftermath of the incident which has been published in the news depicts what appears to be dry roads and cloudy skies.
