Lampasas County, TX — December 8, 2023, one person was injured in a truck accident just before 7:45 in the morning along Farm to Market 580.
According to reports, a 32-year-old man was traveling in a westbound 18-wheeler—a cement mixer—on F.M. 580 about a mile west of County Road 1268 when the accident took place.

The road conditions in the area at the time were reported to have been wet. The 18-wheeler was allegedly traveling at speeds significantly higher than recommended by posted signage. On approaching a curve in the road, the truck reportedly lost traction and started to drift to the right. The vehicle was then overcorrected to the left, crossing over the eastbound lane and into a ditch. As the cement mixer continued up a roadside embankment, the vehicle overturned onto its right side. It then continued to skid back onto the roadway, where it came to a rest on its right side blocking both lanes of traffic.
The 32-year-old sole occupant of the vehicle sustained suspected severe injuries as a result of the accident; he was taken to a local medical facility for treatment. The accident is under investigation by local authorities. Additional details—including the identity of the victim—are not currently available.
