Hudspeth County, TX — July 12, 2024, one person was killed following a single-vehicle truck accident that took place along U.S. Highway 62.
According to authorities, one person was traveling in a tanker truck loaded with at least 9,000 gallons of fuel when the accident took place.
The cause of the accident remains unclear. Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, the tanker failed to safely maintain its lane of travel. It reportedly crashed, overturning and rolling an unknown number of times before coming to a stop resting on its roof. The trailer and the cab became disconnected from each other over the course of the accident, according to photos of the scene which have been published in the news. One man—the sole occupant of the vehicle—suffered fatal injuries as a result of the wreck and was declared deceased at the scene.
