Houston, TX — January 5, 2024, a man was injured in a truck accident just after 6:30 in the morning along Hempstead Highway.
According to reports, a 52-year-old man was traveling in a southeast bound Ford Excursion SUV in the right-most of three lanes on Hempstead Highway approaching the Antoine Drive intersection when the accident occurred.
Also southeast bound on the highway was an 18-wheeler occupying the middle of the three lanes. The 18-wheeler allegedly attempted a right turn onto southwest bound Antoine Drive from an inappropriate lane. This resulted in a collision with the SUV. The crash caused the SUV to veer right, colliding with a Jeep Cherokee and a Chevy pickup truck which had been stopped at the stoplight heading northeast on Antoine Drive before coming to a stop.
The 52-year-old man reportedly incurred suspected serious injuries as a result of the accident. He was transported to a local medical facility by EMS in order to receive immediate treatment. No other injuries have been reported.
