Hayward, CA — July 29, 2024, one person was killed following a single-vehicle truck accident only a short time after 12:00 midnight along State Highway 92.
According to authorities, one man was traveling in an 18-wheeler hauling a flatbed trailer loaded with a backhoe on S.H. 92 in the vicinity of Hesperian Boulevard when the accident took place.
The cause of the accident remains unclear. Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, the truck failed to safely maintain its lane of travel. It reportedly veered out of the active lanes of the highway and crashed into a tree, causing the vehicle to catch on fire.
